objectice summary

In the book,"The Dumbest Generation" by Mark Bauerlein, the U.S department of education has students take different tests\surveys to inform people about how technology affects kids. They call this generation the information age because we have so much information in the palm of our hands. Most of the surveys show that students did not know a lot about history, science ,etc. They state that "The young American mind hasn't opened'.(9) They argue that  we spend too much time on social media and not enough time paying attention to the world around us. In the last section of the book they talk about how we are so privileged to have all these electronics in our daily life, and how we should be thank full. "What did the average teen in the 1950's have? A radio or TV set in the living room, a daily newspaper, and a rare Field trip the the museum.'(53)
